Once I got to the end, I equipped my pet, and then slowly moved all the way back through while my pet ran around grabbing stuff. I seemed to do better if I just ran through and killed everything up front, and leaving all the gold/loot behind as I just continued to run through things. As long as you have a way to backtrack quickly ( Steed Charge for Crusaders, Teleport for Wizards, etc), then mapping the ruins out isn't necessary, but it could be helpful. Some people say to run through the ruins first to map it out. The following is a list of Conquests available in Diablo III that may be available during a Season. I easily got into the 100mil levels after a few tries. Lowered my difficulty to T6, which gives the highest Gold% at the lowest enemy health, which basically guarantees that you'll one-shot everything while gold just showers all around you. Threw a bunch of gold find on my follower (I know, only a tiny percentage even counts anyway). I cubed the crown, and shoved a flawless royal emerald in my helm. Through my travels, I had also come across a Goldwrap belt, Custerian Wristguards, and a Leoric's Crown. Just by running around doing other things, I got my Boon of the Hoarder gem up to level 50, which gives a 100% chance that enemies will explode into gold on death. I had an Ancient Kymbo's Gold fitted with a socket. The Avarice conquest is actually very easy, but then, I also had some lucky equipment drops:
